On May 18–19, the “First Tashkent International Migration Forum” concluded its work in the capital. This prestigious event was organized at a high level by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The forum brought together over 500 international experts, state and public figures, scholars, and field specialists from Central Asia, Europe, and other regions of the world. The main objective of the conference was to develop pathways for safe, orderly, and legal migration in the modern world, as well as to collaboratively seek solutions to global and regional challenges.

One of the most critical focus areas of the international forum was dedicated to the issue of youth migration, which is evolving in line with contemporary demands. Professor Aktam Jalilov, Director of the Institute for the Study of Youth Problems and Training Prospective Personnel, participated in the panel session of this track with his keynote report.

In his speech, the head of the Institute highlighted the specific characteristics of youth migration amidst rapid globalization and labor market volatility. Based on a systematic analysis, Professor Aktam Jalilov presented precise statistical data detailing the root causes of youth migration and the socio-economic status of young people abroad.

Following the results of the First Tashkent International Migration Forum, relevant recommendations aimed at strengthening international cooperation and modernizing migration policy were adopted.
