On August 23 of the current year, an international round table was held at the Hyatt Regency hotel on the topic: “The system of warning, early prevention and countering the spread of the ideology of extremism and terrorism on the global information network” in the framework of the regional project “Preventing Violent Extremism in Central Asia” organized by GIZ in collaboration with VHS DVV International.
The aim of this project is to adjust existing counter-terrorism practices using modern approaches and tools that are based on a gender-sensitive and human rights-based approach to preventing violent extremism (CVE).
Experts from Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other CIS countries took part in the event with reports. During the “round table” the issues and measures of prevention of the facts of terrorism and extremism in the youth environment, as well as suppression of the prerequisites for the formation of radical views and beliefs were discussed.
As part of the agenda of the event, G. Khudoyberdieva, specialist of the Institute for research of the youth problems and Training prospective personnel, informed the participants of the event about the ongoing explanatory work among young people on the part of religious communities aimed at the correct interpretation of Islam, the formation of high-quality monitoring on the Internet, as well as ways to combat social isolation.
