Education reforms in the PRC are taking place against the backdrop of a national campaign to reduce too much homework and extracurricular learning.
To alleviate the overload of students and to relieve them of the need to resort to the services of off-campus tutors, the PRC authorities are planning to develop extra-curricular services in all schools in the country.
In schools, it is envisaged to introduce a variety of out-of-school leisure programs (circles and sections on art, sports, work, reading, etc.) so that students can spend more time on the territory of educational institutions.
