“At the international roundtable on the topic “Central Asia’s Unity Policy: Uzbekistan’s Role in Ensuring Regional Stability,” scientifically grounded proposals will be developed. The international roundtable, organized in cooperation with the Academy and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Representative Office in Uzbekistan, brought together leaders of the State Administration Academies from Central Asian countries, foreign experts from the USA, Turkey, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, representatives of the media, and international organizations. The event was opened with a welcome speech by Alisher Umarov, the Vice Rector of the Academy for Scientific Affairs and International Relations.
Participants included representatives from the Higher School of Strategic Analysis and Forecasting of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Institute of Central Asia, officials from higher education institutions, professors, researchers, and students of the Academy, who presented reports and shared their views.
The main goal of the event was to analyze the integration processes in Central Asia, to conduct scientific and political analysis of Uzbekistan’s role in ensuring peace and stability in the region, to highlight Uzbekistan’s active participation in the implementation of infrastructure projects, to analyze the results achieved and prospective plans related to state governance, to promote the region’s transport and communication capabilities, to refine prospective plans, to study two- and multilateral communication platforms, and their role in ensuring regional stability, and to develop proposals based on the analysis of views and analytical data on the topic.
The international roundtable was organized into a plenary session and four thematic directions:
- Integration processes in Central Asia.
- Uzbekistan’s role in ensuring stability in the Central Asian region.
- Uzbekistan’s active participation in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
- The importance of state governance in achieving regional stability.
Based on the results of the international roundtable, taking into account international experience, a collection of theses will be published on the topic “Central Asia’s Unity Policy: Uzbekistan’s Role in Ensuring Regional Stability,” with proposals and recommendations.”
