The Manitoba government is investing $6 million in programs to help improve the quality of life of young people with type 1 diabetes.
The province announced the funding, noting that programs will be created to finance advanced glucose meters and insulin pumps for people aged 25 and younger.
The province estimates that through these programs, more than 1,000 residents will be able to obtain financial coverage for the purchase of advanced glucose monitors and insulin pumps, and another 200 residents of Manitoba will be able to use insulin pumps without upfront costs.
